why this site exists

Notes on building a personal site for myself, not for a recruiter.

This is my notebook. Not a portfolio.

I built it because I’d rather have my writing on infrastructure I control than rent the privilege from a platform that owns my drafts. The site runs on Astro, sits in a private GitHub repo, and ships from Cloudflare Pages — no JavaScript framework in the visitor’s bundle unless a specific post needs one.

If you’re here, you’re probably here for one of these reasons:

  • you found a technical write-up that solved a problem
  • you’re curious about a project I’m building
  • you’re me, three months from now, looking for something I wrote down

All three are fine.

What I’ll write about

The honest list: home automation, EVs, embedded firmware, Linux hardening, AWS plumbing, edge AI, energy economics, and the occasional theology-meets-technology essay. Posts will be irregular and unevenly long. No publishing schedule, no newsletter prompt.

git log --oneline | wc -l

That number will tick up.
